Beagle

The Beagle is a considered a small to medium-sized dog. Being member of the Hound Group, it looks a lot like the Foxhound, albeit with shorter legs and longer ears. Beagles have a keen sense of smell, and have been bred especially for tracking hare, rabbit, and other game. These traits are also the reason why they often get employed as detection dogs for prohibited agricultural imports and foodstuffs in quarantine around the world.

They are popular as pets because of their size, even temper, and lack of inherited health problems.
